VI of Wands

Cameras are rolling,
but it's not weird—
I'm being seen,
but nobody's taking a peek.

Eyes are watching,
but it's not obscene—
I'm being heard,
and nobody's being mean.

People are still,
all hands are up for me—
I'm giving a speech,
and nobody wants to leave.

The spotlight's set,
and I'm not a wreck—
I'm Eight.
I'm safe.

And they're all here with me.

Eight stands on a pedestal before an audience. A number eight remembrance candle lights up the stage. Eight holds it—tenderly, confidently. The crowd lifts their own candles in response, mirroring the flame—admiration, support, praise. The spotlight illuminates, but does not stare. Eight has something to share, and the whole room waits—listening eagerly, patiently.

Sixes in tarot bring balance, progress, and a sense of harmony. In the Six of Wands, this progress takes the form of recognition and validation. A community—one you have built or grown into— now celebrates you. You are seen, supported, and acknowledged for your efforts. What once lived quietly within you is now reflected back through others.

They are surrounding you, cherishing your presence, applauding what you have accomplished. You can hardly believe it. You worked hard on a project and saw it though to its completion. This moment can feel overwhelming, especially if you come from a place where you were not seen or heard. To be recognized now—fully, openly—may feel unfamiliar.

Let it.

Take it all in and just let the feelings take over. Allow yourself to feel proud of what you’ve done. You worked hard and people support and notice the effort. Let pride exist without apology. You carried something through to completion. That matters.

If shadows from the past try to dim this moment, notice them—but don’t let them take over. This recognition is not a mistake. If no one is there to celebrate with you—be your own witness. Your effort is still real. Your accomplishment still counts. Let that inner light of pride shine inside and out, not caring who else can see it.

Endless validation from others can pull you in if you’re not careful. When recognition becomes the source of wealth, it can feel shallow. And hollow. You might find yourself chasing applause, measuring your value through the eyes of others, or shaping your light to be admired rather than true. This can lead to emptiness—a feeling that no amount of praise is ever enough. If you were never honored or seen, it makes sense that you would seek it out now. But, what’s missing can’t be fully replaced by external sources. True self-confidence and worth is built from inside, slowly, not taken or earned from outside yourself. Celebration should fill you up, not still feel empty.

Remember when you felt proud before you even heard it from anyone else. What did that feel like? Choose to feel the warmth bloom inside and if others notice, it only adds to that feeling. It doesn’t depend on it or go away if unnoticed.
