Ace of Wands

I flick a Bic, and the sparkler's lit.
My hand's nervous at the surface, almost in a fit.
Little lightning licks up my sleeve.
It might pinch and bite,
But my fire will never leave.

I shower my power into the night.
I dream it. I create it. I shape it—
this wish of mine, so right!
Think fast, act faster—
it's going to burn so bright,
then vanish as quickly as it burst into sight.

The ocean's close; waves break on toes.
Children are laughing because nobody knows.
But I remember December,
eight times forever.
I'm ready to reclaim my lost treasure.

You can't snuff out a candle of this measure,
one raised from nightmares, not from pleasure.

When I whisper all my truths to be told,
others shall stand with me in a blaze so bold.
A shared flame warms all that's cold,
and fans fiercely into forever—
Behold!

A sparkler spiraling in the hand of a child is the thing of childhood core memories: swirl it around in circles, twirl it into letters and sigils. Whatever you fancy is full of fantastical light! Beware, though—get too close to the sparks, and they can prickle, stealing a bit of that magic you first held. You can get so caught up in the initial imagination that once it passes, you forget entirely what it was at the start. Keep a journal with you so you may always record your ponderings. But, don’t stop at the idea stage—without follow-through, dreams disappear into nothing. It’s not always easy to come up with phenomenal ideas, but continuing the creative cycle to the end is what makes a genius unforgettable. Let the lessons of your past lift you towards success instead of distracting you. Don’t allow others to thieve your determination…protect it! Whisper to your inner child that she is safe to create, that her secrets will be remembered, and that the glow within her will keep on shining far long after the flame has fizzled.
