Knight of Wands

Charge ahead,
full speed, they said—
but I'm soaking it in,
letting my thoughts spin.

The ground is nothing under me—

it feels weird,
but I don't.
No weight pushing,
no gravity pulling,
it's only me and me, exploring.

Suited up, nice and pretty—
it feels good to feel not-shitty.
My space is in space—
I can't see my face,
but I know where I'm going
because I can taste
it.

Leaving a home that wasn't a home
is easy, said nobody.
Standing around, with no feet on ground
is brave, said everybody.
But I rarely care what anybody says
except for the image I make in my head.

Red ball of fire dancing in my eyes—
don't care what you are,
I just need my prize.
My wings of fire have always carried me
across the deserts, the unknown, and the seas—
here, there, before, now—infinity.

The horn on my head, the only map I need—
it points to where I know I'll succeed.
Flag of fortune,
flag of me,
I'm getting closer to claiming my destiny.

In the moment,
in this instant of time—
I'll pause and admire what soon will be mine.
